Hello from Plymouth Cats Protection!

Cats Protection is the UK's leading feline welfare charity.

Our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.

We have simple and clear objectives to help cats:

Homing - finding good homes for cats in need.

Neutering - supporting and encouraging the neutering of cats.

Information - improving people’s understanding of cats and their care.

A little bit about us...

Plymouth Central branch was born at a public meeting organised by HQ in August 2001. A committee was formed and a fair at the Guildhall was organised to launch the branch in November 2001; we started with 3 fosterers with outside pens.

Since that time there have been many changes to the committee due to various resignations and many fosterers have come and gone.  The name changed to “Plymouth branch” when we took over part of the area of the now defunct South Hams branch.

During the months since March 2009 there has been a recruitment drive initiated by HQ to find some more much-needed volunteers to help the branch. This has been very successful but we still need more, particularly fundraisers but we have something for everyone so please get in touch!

Thank you for supporting us.

There has never been a cat
Who couldn't calm me down
By walking slowly
Past my chair.
